Epoch 223 is here and there have been some nice updates for Stoic Pool since Epoch 222.
Cardano Updates
Cardano has been recovering a little since the last Epoch and the general downturn of the crypto market, but the last few days have seen a steady recovery.
Because of this I have been able to get my hands on a little more ADA to add to my Pledge.
STOIC Pool Pledge Increase
As I explained in the STOIC Pool Roadmap, I am slowly increasing my pledge to 50K ADA as part of STOIC Pool Phase 1 and for 223 I have increased my Pledge to 21K ADA up from 19K ADA in 222.
Yes this is only an incremental increase but a steady increase each Epoch means I will continue to build up to the target on track for the end of 2020!
Delegation Increase
We have also been lucky to have an increase in delegation, going from around 77K ADA Active Stake to around 90K
This is only a small increase as well but hopefully this sets the trend for bigger and bigger delegation going forward!
Aiming for a close of Phase 2 (Growth Phase) at around 2 Million ADA seems like a lofty goal right now but I know we can get there if we continue to build. And once we do get to our 2Mil target, we should see consistent block production every Epoch.
STOIC YouTube Channel
In Epoch 222 I launched the STOIC Pool YourTube Channel which is where I will be sharing regular videos on Cardano and Updates to the Stake Pool every Epoch, so head over there and subscribe for regular updates from me!
Rewards
We have so far been unable to mint any blocks at STOIC because of our small delegation, but I am hoping that our luck will turn around soon.
Currently we only have a 4% chance of minting a block, which I am expecting to increase every Epoch with our gradual build of the stake pool.
On the plus side, as soon as we do, we will have big rewards for our small number of delegators because we have a 0% fee and any rewards will be shared between only a handful of people.
I hope that it makes up for the Epochs where we don’t mint.
What Is Going To Happen This Epoch?
This Epoch will mark the first big upgrade for Stoic Pool, we will be upgrading the node to the latest release, which only got approved this weekend.
This is going to be a big learning experience for Stoic and I am looking forward to seeing how the upgraded node performs.
