STOIC On Yoroi

Guys this is a big update for people looking to stake to the STOIC Pool!

It has been a frustrating week trying to get the metadata working correctly, but I am happy to announce that we are finally listed correctly on the Yoroi Wallet!

This means you will now be able to find our Stake Pool on the Yoroi wallet and be able to stake to the pool for the next snapshot of Epoch 221!

Although this is a seemingly small step in the Stoic Roadmap, it is important for us for discoverability and the chance to attract delegators from outside of our network. This in turn will lead to a bigger stake and a more productive pool in terms of rewards and block creation.

So if you are using the Yoroi wallet you will now be able to stake your ADA to the STOIC Pool ready for the next Epoch – here is how you do it . . .

How To Stake Cardano ADA on Yoroi

The Yoroi wallet is a web app and now a mobile app that you can use to store your ADA. It was created by Emurgo, one of the main companies building the Cardano ecosystem.

You can download it to your Chrome or Brave browser (recommended) and use it to safely store your ADA off an exchange and delegate it to a stake pool to start earning you some rewards.

Set Up Your Wallet

Set up your account on Yoroi by creating a wallet.

You can do this with a Ledger Nano or Trezor device, or simply on the app.

You will need to write down your recovery phrase and store it somewhere safe as it will be the only way to recover your wallet if needed.

Once your wallet is set up, transfer your ADA from your exchange or other wallet with the receive tab on the main window of your wallet.

Once you have your Cardano ADA in your wallet you can delegate straight away by clicking the Delegation by ID tab and inputting the STOIC Pool ID

Then clicking the Delegate button on the far right of the Stoic Pool info bar.

You will have to sign a 2 ADA transaction as a delegation fee, but this will be returned to you when you decide to stop delegating (no matter how many times you change pool).

This is like a deposit to delegate, and you will get it back if you want to sell or move your ADA from your wallet, it is not lost.

What Happens To Your ADA?

Your ADA will stay in your wallet and in your full control while you do delegate, it is not locked up and it is not going to leave your wallet at all.

What will happen is you will start to earn rewards.

Rewards are paid out each Epoch and are based on a snapshot taken at the turn of each Epoch.

Rewards are paid out 2 Epochs after the snapshot, which means that if you delegate in Epoch 220, the snapshot will be taken for the start of Epoch 221, and will be paid out on the turn of Epoch 222 / 223, which means you will be waiting 10-15 days for rewards.

If you have your ADA already delegated to a different pool, and switch to STOIC Pool, you will continue to earn rewards from the previous pool until they are all paid and the rewards switch to STOIC, which will be 10-15 days or 2-3 Epochs depending on when you switch.

Either way, once you are delegating, you will never miss an Epoch.
