IOHK Update: Goguen Roadmap

On Thursday the IOHK monthly update released a date for the first roll out of Goguen, Cardano’s Smart Contracts.

They suggested that mid december was when the ERC20 Token Swap will become available and you will be able to swap Tokens off Ethereum onto the Cardano Blockchain.

No specific date was given, but we were shown a little sneak peak at what the Token swap looks like and what Tokens are already a part of this exchange feature.

So we already knew about SingularityNET AGI Token and that was used for the Demo, but there was also Basic Attention Token (BAT) which is used by the Brave Browser (check that out here if you don’t already use it) and also DAI which is a stablecoin.

Then we also saw the Tether was ‘coming soon’ which I imagine will mean it is to be available by end of year if not already by the time the Token Swap goes live.

This is really exciting news for Cardano because it shows just how consistent IOHK are at rolling these updates and improvements out.

And there is more . . .

A full roadmap was provided where IOHK will be releasing updates in 2 Week sprints until the Goguen mainnet goes live towards the end of Spring next year when we will have a fully functioning smart contracts platform implemented on the blockchain.

IOHK also showed a comparison chart of the Cardano Token Support features compared to the Ethereum ERC20 Token features and the feature list speaks for itself.

The also announced the full release of the Marlowe Playground which is a space where you can create smart contracts and start testing out the features Marlowe will have when fully rolled out on the blockchain.

All in all it was a very exciting update with lots of news and things to look forward to towards the end of the year and into 2021!

We shall see what happens on the next few weeks with Cardano and the IOHK Team!
